Team Photographs. Photographers will be taking team and individual pictures again this season.  Your team manager will be contacted with the specific times for your team to appear.  Even if you do not plan to purchase a photograph, please have your player show up in uniform to be included in the team picture.

Pilney Night at Zephyrs Field. Tickets will be sold for Pilney Night at Zephyrs field.  The date and time for this game will be announced  to your team manager and publicized throughout the league. We usually purchase bulk tickets in the sections behind the 3rd base dugout.  Tickets are $7.00 each.  Each year hundreds of Pilney players and parents go to the game.  Mike Fitzwilliam will be at the park on Pilney night to sell tickets behind the 3 big diamonds.  Cash, check, or money order are acceptable (make checks payable to Pilney Little League).  Please make sure that you purchase tickets together in the same row.

Jamboree. Last season's Opening Jamboree was a great success, both weather-wise and financially.  The League raised over $285 selling drinks and 50/50 tickets.  Our thanks go to Kiwanis International and their host of volunteers (Hugh Ford, Judy Johnson, Lee Grush, Laurel Salley, and Brian Maestri) and to Pilney's own Didara Franklin, Madeleine Wixom, Isabelle Williamson, and Carol Fitzwilliam.  We hope that you all got to see the Zephyrs' mascot, Boudreaux, out at the park.

Bogalusa Game. The Senior League team was beaten by one of Bogalusa's three teams, 15-3.  Pilney had a 3-1 lead but lost it over a couple of big innings.  The Bogalusa managers, coaches, and fans were very nice and are planning to be equally good hosts when we play there next Saturday.

Board of Directors. Our 1999 Board of Directors now consists of:  Phil Baracco, President; Patty Shaver, Major League Vice President; Harold Schlumbrecht, Minor League Vice Presidentand Major League Manager; Paul Lavelle, Tee Ball Vice President and Major League Manager, Buddy Ruckstuhl, Player Agent, Mike Fitzwilliam, Treasurer, Safety Officer, and Senior League Manager, Carol Fitzwilliam, Secretary, Nolan Boudreaux, Major League Manager, and Warren Hintz, Executive Vice President. There are 4 vacancies on the board and all parents who would like to participate in furthering the interests of the League are invited to join. 

Pilney is operated by other parents just like you, some of whom don't have players in the league any more.  We would especially like to have a Safety Officer who is qualified as a health professional to run our safety program. For information about this important function, please call the league answer line at 457-0080.
